Campus: Centennial Hall

UW – La Crosse

UW-La Crosse’s newest academic building is strategically positioned at the center of the campus, housing state-of-the-art general access classrooms and select departments to support the mission of the university. More than sixty percent of the facility is occupied by 46 classrooms, ranging in size from 40 seats to 250 seat auditoriums, equipped with the latest educational technology.

The design was influenced heavily by the principles of sustainable design and the building achieved a LEED Gold rating. The C-shaped floor plan and building facades were deliberately positioned and opened to harvest as much natural light as possible to reduce the need for artificial illumination. The building envelope and systems are designed to be 30% more energy efficient than the State of Wisconsin Energy Code.

Centennial Hall was awarded the State of Wisconsin Division of State Facilities 2011 Best Project.
