Churches

The work of the Church Studio covers a broad spectrum of religious uses. Its range deals with the centeredness of the individual to the communal experience of an assembly in a designed setting. The space supports the spiritual activity, which may be manifest in worship, fellowship, educational, and residential uses. The diverse type of buildings includes churches, shrines, parochial schools, convents, rectories, monasteries, places for interment, and spiritual retreat centers.

Unique among building types, churches have a singular function: to provide human beings with a space in which to contemplate, individually and in communion with others, their immortal dimension.”
