The City of La Crosse invested in the restoration of a neighborhood park that had seen better days, and with that River Architects created a vision for a welcoming community space. As part of a neighborhood revitalization project, the park transformed with a new shelter, accessible playground equipment, and splash pad.
A special feature in the park is a unique sculpture dedicated to the park’s namesake, George C. Poage, the first African American to medal in an Olympic games. He was an 1899 graduate of La Crosse High School.
