Campus: Centennial Hall

UW – Eau Claire

River Architects and SmithGroup collaborated on the design of Centennial Hall, the newest academic building on the UW-Eau Claire campus since 1981. This building consolidates the departments of the College of Education and Human Sciences into one location, and includes 22 new general assignment classrooms, which partially resolved an existing campus imbalance of available classroom sizes compared with demand. Understanding that learning continues outside the classroom, there are a variety of unique collaborative learning spaces distributed throughout the building, with abundant natural light and expansive glass walls.

The site selected for this project strategically located the new facility within the academic core of the campus.
