Commercial: River Architects’ Office
La Crosse, WI
Our LEED Certified 10,000 square foot office building was designed to provide a light filled and creative work environment. The restored site in downtown La Crosse borders the La Crosse River and is a remediated former brownfield that once was an auto salvage yard. The delicate nature of the adjacent marsh landscape and the tight site restrictions posed challenges which required an imaginative solution to meet the programmatic needs of the building. The L-shaped plan provides space for focused individual work, collaboration, and research. The plan includes 2,500 square feet of rental space and future architectural office expansion.
All site areas disturbed by construction have been planted with native plant species. The building’s sustainable features also include highly efficient lighting systems incorporating extensive daylighting, water saving plumbing fixtures, and low VOC interior materials.
