As the Preservation Architect for the UW-Madison Field House project, River Architects prepared a Historic Structure Report, which included an assessment of the existing conditions of the facility, the historic integrity, and the general recommendations for the repair and treatment of this unique building and its site.
Listed on both the State and National Register of Historic Places, the UW‐Field House has played a significant role in the growing success of the athletic programs and has also served the community as a venue for various events and purposes. The report provided a detailed summary of the condition of the historical asset along with a detailed history of the building’s origins and the alterations that occurred since it was constructed in 1929. The recommendations outlined in the report provided the framework for a complete revitalization of the exterior, including masonry restoration and window rehabilitation.
