The renovation of Heritage Hall, one of UW–Stout’s most iconic academic buildings, is underway—and viewers can get a glimpse of what’s changing inside. From modernized classrooms to expanded labs and refreshed collaborative spaces, the video highlights how the university is shaping the future of hands-on learning while honoring the building’s long history.
This behind-the-scenes tour offers a fascinating look at everything happening within Heritage Hall’s walls:
- Improving accessibility throughout the building
- Expanding lab spaces for growing programs
- Integrating modern technology into every classroom
- Creating flexible, collaborative environments
- Updating aging mechanical and electrical systems
Expected to be completed in 2028, the interior partitions of the building will be demolished and replaced with state-of-the-art classrooms, replacing its utilities, and refreshing the exterior with more glass allowing more natural light into the building. Additional improvements include a new roof, elevators, and restrooms along with accessibility upgrades.
Despite the major changes, the video thoughtfully highlights elements of Heritage Hall’s original character that are being preserved. From architectural details to the building’s recognizable layout, viewers can see how the renovation blends old and new.
