River Architects’ LEED-Certified Projects

River Architects is deeply committed to sustainable design principles as a matter of routine practice. We recognize the impact that building and development have on the environment. With this insight, we pursue design solutions that are aesthetically compelling and that minimize environmental impacts. We believe that the origins of great design and green design are an understanding of the local, natural, and cultural resources, allowing our designs to work in harmony with their context and climate.

Efficient use of resources is a priority at River Architects, not only because it makes good ecological sense, but because it makes good economic sense as well. Specifying materials and systems that are durable, non-toxic, locally manufactured, and that reduce waste are trademarks of our sustainable design approach. We also specify waste management plans that ensure the maximum amount of recyclable and reusable materials are diverted from landfills.

Our team is familiar with a wide variety of green building guidelines and rating systems. We use the stringent Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards set forth by the U.S. Green Building Council and five projects have been LEED Certified.
