River Architects has been named among Building Design+Construction’s Top 60 Public Library Architecture Firms in 2026, recognizing the firm’s work in designing public libraries.
Since our first public library project in 1983, we have delivered functional, resourceful, and inspirational library environments to a variety of communities and campuses. We recognize that a public library is far more than a physical space — it is a catalyst for inspiration, discovery, and connection. It serves as a unique community hub with the power to transform individual experiences into lasting memories.
River Architects understands that a library’s design has a direct impact on the quality of its patrons’ experiences. To support these critical activities, the design of the library must nurture learning while also fostering meaningful relationships and celebrating personal achievement. The ranking is based on data submitted through Building Design+Construction’s 2026 Giants 400 survey, which included nearly 600 architecture, engineering, and construction firms across the United States and Canada. Firms were evaluated based on revenue from commercial, institutional, multifamily, and industrial building projects.
This recognition reflects the collaborative effort of the River Architects team and the many clients, consultants, community members, and project partners who contribute to each project.
